About Support Services for Veteran Families

The goal of the SSVF program is to promote housing stability among very low-income Veteran families who reside in or are transitioning to permanent housing. SSVF-providers offer a range of short-term services that include outreach, case management, assistance in obtaining VA and other public benefits, and temporary financial assistance (e.g. rental assistance, security deposits, moving costs).

Basic Eligibility Requirements

*Meeting basic eligibility criteria does not guarantee SSVF services. Furthermore, agencies offering SSVF services may have additional criteria to determine eligibility and to prioritize the delivery of services.*

1. A Veteran Household:

        • Either (a) a Veteran; or (b) a household in which the head of household, or the spouse of the head of household, is a Veteran.
        • The Veteran is a person who served at least one day of active duty in the US military and who was discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable. Boot Camp is not considered active duty.

2. Very Low-Income:
